A payment receipt for the money you receive

How to create a payment receipt
- Choose cash, money or partial payment and select a receipt style.
- Enter who received the money, who paid, the receipt number, date and amount in Indian rupees.
- Describe what the payment covers. Add an invoice or transaction reference if needed.
- For partial payments, enter the original amount and earlier payments, excluding this payment. Review the remaining balance.
- Check the preview, then sign in and download your PDF for 10 credits.
Choose the receipt you need
- Cash receipt: record a payment made in cash.
- Money receipt: choose cash, UPI, bank transfer, card, cheque or another method.
- Partial payment: show the original amount, previous payments, this payment and balance remaining.
- Optional addresses, references and notes appear only when filled in.
Keep the payment record clear
Use a receipt number you can match to your own records. Enter only the amount received in this payment. For partial payments, earlier payments must exclude the current payment to avoid counting it twice.
For example, if the full amount is ₹10,000, earlier payments total ₹3,000 and you receive ₹2,500 now, the balance is ₹4,500.
The balance is calculated from the figures you enter, not from your bank account or past invoices. Make sure you have received the payment before giving someone a receipt.
Payment receipt FAQs
Can I create a cash receipt or money receipt?
Yes. Choose Cash receipt for cash payments. Choose Money receipt to also record payments by UPI, bank transfer, card or cheque.
How does the partial-payment balance work?
Balance remaining equals the original amount minus previous payments minus the current payment. If the payments add up to more than the original amount, you will need to correct them before downloading.
Does this tool verify a bank or UPI payment?
No. It records the details you enter. Check that you have received the money before giving someone a receipt.
What does a PDF cost?
Each of the four styles uses 10 credits per PDF. You can check the preview before using credits.
Can I download a receipt format in Word or Excel?
This tool provides an online editor and PDF downloads. Word and Excel exports are not included.
